Women’s:
Classics are open to interpretation as the wearer sees fit: trench coats, biker jackets, tailored pantsuits and fluid coats in distressed silk lining fabrics are slashed in back so an arm can slip through, rotating the garment 90° so that it twists naturally around the body and morphs into asymmetric tops and dresses with a surrealistic evening attitude. Sleeves dangle in front and back or are cinched with thin belts to create distinctive new draped volumes. Elsewhere, shapes are darted to evoke the fitting process or tied, for example on a simple white jersey t-shirt ruched with packaging tape like an ad hoc DIY belt.
Signature column silhouettes further distort perception, such as on a simple lingerie-style slip dress worn nonchalantly as a skirt with the top part folded down like an ersatz peplum, paired with a knitted tank top, its check motif deformed to slowly twist around the bust.
Ultra-brief silhouettes, such as denim mini skirts so short they might be mistaken for bum bags, create borderline moments, blurring notions of where accessories end and clothes begin.
