Marine Serre stepped out of her comfort zone and left fashion in the background for now, without forgetting it. Presented her Autumn/Winter 22 collection entitled „Hard Drive“ in an exhibition format in collaboration with the Lafayette Anticipations space, as they went far beyond a normal fashion show and offered their guests a whole experience.
The first floor showcases Marine Serre’s pioneering regenerative creation and upcycling processes, restoring old clothes and upgrading everyday objects.
On the second floor, the (hard) core materials of the house are expanded and mixed to create visionary environments inspired by the latest 2022 collection. These modern dioramas are intended as worlds to explore, experience and feel, offering timeless and simple slices of life.
A selection of original paintings from the 15th to 17th centuries, bold reinterpretations of some of the most powerful female figures in art history, are presented on the top floor – offering numerous interpretive possibilities for all.
The collection, as mentioned earlier, encapsulates the brand’s DNA and features the spirit of punk (belt buckles assembled into necklaces and bracelets and worn on colourful Aran jumpers), simple materials and the house’s savoir-faire, through tailoring, Harringtong jackets recovered from tartan and houndstooth wool scarves, tweed coats combined with tartan scarves, patchwork garments, recycled grunge shirts, tartan, diamond and jacquard prints in recycled wool with an elegant and polished look. And when we talk about elegance, we can’t help but look at Toile de Jouy quilted bed linen. Camouflage also played an important role in Marine’s range, where good finishes dominated.
