Mario grew up in the small, picturesque mountain village of Montepertuso, nestled high above Positano on the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast. His deep connection to fine wine, artisanal cold cuts, and the authentic treasures of his homeland is a true family legacy. It was his grandfather Giovanni, his uncle Gaetano, and his father Alfonso who sparked a love for the honest things in life within the now 30-year-old.

From a young age, they taught him how much beauty lies in hard work, dedication, and a deep appreciation for one’s roots.

 

Two memories live on vividly in Mario’s heart: waking up early together for the grape harvest, which always culminated in a joyful celebration of togetherness, and the beautiful Christmas tradition of the family harvest, where everyone gathered to prepare the cured meats for the coming year with plenty of laughter and love—a ritual that remains his most cherished symbol of family warmth and sharing.

To turn this lifelong passion into his profession, Mario pursued formal training in hospitality. He learned from some of the industry’s finest in upscale hotels, refining his instinct for genuine hospitality and gaining valuable international experience. In June 2024, his long-held dream finally came to life: together with Angela, he opened the „Miragalli“ wine bar in Praiano. It is a place that truly touches the soul, carried by the gentle sea breeze and the wonderful scents of the coast. After journeying along the steep coastal paths, travelers find a welcoming oasis here—a place to unwind over lovingly curated wine tastings and authentic local specialties. Angela’s great passion, architecture, shines through in beautifully detailed, handcrafted ceramics, wrapping the entire space in a warm, creative, and deeply personal atmosphere.

When you think of Praiano, you picture the brilliant white houses perched against steep cliffs, breathtaking sunsets over the glittering Mediterranean, and you catch the scent of the salty sea breeze. The grapes for the exceptional DOC wines from Tramonti, Furore, and Ravello grow on dizzying, vertical stone terraces suspended between sky and sea. An absolute highlight that fascinates wine lovers worldwide is the rare and precious Tintore wine. Thanks to the protective volcanic ash soils, its centuries-old vines survived the phylloxera plague. Combined with rare indigenous grape varieties like Piedirosso, Pepella, Ginestra, and Fenile, Miragalli brings drops to your glass that perfectly reflect the mineral strength and harmony of this coast.
