Building upon the success of its global TriClub Program, IRONMAN today announced IRONMAN® 70.3® Jönköping as the host of the 2019 European, TriClub Championship, to be held on 7 July, 2019.
“It is truly an honour for the city of Jönköping to host athletes from all over the world for this IRONMAN 70.3 TriClub Championship event and to be given the chance to invite them to everything the region has
to offer”, said Patrik Olderius, Managing Director of Jönköping Destination.
“The city of Jönköping has with its unique landscape and natural settings east of Lake Vättern been designated as a biosphere reserve area by UNESCO. The city offers an almost 2 km long sand beach in
the middle of the city and the athletes passes by a total of 9 lakes”, said Ann-Marie Nilsson, Chairwoman, Jönköping Municipal Board.
IRONMAN 70.3 Jönköping follows IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona, which hosted the EMEA TriClub Championship in 2018 and IRONMAN 70.3 Pula which hosted the event prior to Barcelona. IRONMAN 70.3 Jönköping was chosen to host this prestigious event through an online athlete poll. “More than 7000 athletes voted for IRONMAN 70.3 Jönköping to be the most recommended 70.3 race in the world and it is furthermore the IRONMAN 70.3 race with the highest % of participating Triclub members in EMEA and the race with the highest female participation % rate in Europe, said ’IRONMAN’s Regional Director Thomas Veje Olsen. “Racing alongside their teammates in this Championship format provides added motivation for all the athletes.

Plus, with the extraordinary support from the local community and the city of Jönköping as the triathlon arena, we intend to make the 2019 event especially memorable,” said Mattias Markenstrand, the Race Director for IRONMAN 70.3 Jönköping.
The IRONMAN TriClub Program has grown to now host 2400 active member clubs in Europe, representing 20,000 athletes.
Introduced in 2012, the IRONMAN TriClub Program was designed to help triathlon clubs drive membership, provide networking opportunities and create a sense of friendly competition. Throughout each year, participating clubs earn points every time their athletes cross an IRONMAN® or IRONMAN 70.3® finish line. Each club is assigned to a division based on the club’s membership size. The club in each division that accumulates the greatest number of points by the end of the calendar year receives the title of IRONMAN TriClub World Champion.

IRONMAN 70.3 JÖNKÖPING 2019 OSPITERÀ  LA FINALE EUROPEA DEI TRICLUB 

Forte del successo globale del programma TriClub, IRONMAN oggi ha annunciato che l’IRONMAN® 70.3® Jönköping ospiterà la finale del Campionato europeo TriClub 2019, che si terrà il 7 luglio 2019

“La città di Jönköping, con il suo paesaggio unico e i suoi ambienti naturali ad est del lago Vättern, è stata dichiarata dall’UNESCO zona di riserva della biosfera. La città offre una spiaggia sabbiosa lunga quasi 2 km nel centro della città e gli atleti attraversano 9 laghi“, ha dichiarato Ann-Marie Nilsson, presidente del Consiglio comunale di Jönköping.

IRONMAN 70.3 Jönköping subentra all’IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona, che ha ospitato il campionato EMEA TriClub nel 2018, e all’IRONMAN 70.3 Pula, dove si è svolto l’evento negli anni precedenti. IRONMAN 70.3 Jönköping è stato scelto per accogliere questo prestigioso evento attraverso un sondaggio online tra gli atleti.

Oltre 7000 atleti hanno votato l’IRONMAN 70.3 Jönköping come l’evento 70.3 più raccomandato al mondo. Inoltre, è la gara IRONMAN 70.3 con la più alta percentuale di membri TriClub nella regione EMEA e con il più alto numero di partecipanti femminili in Europa, ha dichiarato il direttore regionale di IRONMAN, Thomas Veje Olsen.

“Gareggiare insieme ai propri compagni di squadra nella finale del Campionato è una motivazione in più per tutti gli atleti. Il programma IRONMAN TriClub è cresciuto molto negli ultimi anni e ad oggi conta sull’adesione di 2400 club attivi in Europa con circa 20.000 atleti.

Introdotto nel 2012, il programma IRONMAN TriClub è stato ideato per supportare le squadre nel promuovere il numero di adesioni, fornire opportunità di networking e creare un senso di competizione amichevole. Durante tutto l’anno, i club iscritti guadagnano punti ogni volta che uno dei loro atleti attraversano un traguardo IRONMAN® o IRONMAN 70.3®. Ogni club è inserito in una divisione in base alla numero di membri della propria squadra. Il club che guadagna il maggior numero di punti entro la fine dell’anno solare riceve il titolo di IRONMAN TriClub World Champion nella propria divisione.
