A triangulation of opposites in the Paradise Collection by Roberto Cavalli, designed by Fausto Puglisi for the Spring/Summer of 2024. Imagine, at the same party, three women like Valentina Cortese with a scarf made of the same precious silk as her antique Japanese kimono, Bianca Jagger in a red slip dress on a white horse, and Cher with suede pants sewn on, a bra instead of a shirt, and a New Mexico’s desert-colored trench.
Think of the colors of a summer sunset, the „Je m’en fous“ shouted to the world by Brigitte Bardot in Saint Tropez, a dancing queen stealing feathers from Roberto’s parrots, the lightness, and poetic graphics, only to then seek refuge in the timeless elegance of a polka-dotted silk twill pajama suit. The marvelous chiffon caftans seem to soar with feather-inspired designs, both in the flaming cut of the asymmetric hems and in the new feather prints made in Cavalli.

These are macro photographic prints defined by small flashes of lilac, or a hand-painted feather in shades of red, pink, white, and lime. The feather theme is also found in the spectacular sandblasted denim jeans with tiny laser-cut feathers dancing on the hem. Then there’s the incredible woven nappa pencil skirt, like a straw beach chair on Pampelonne Beach, the boxy jacket over the flying dresses, the reversible kimonos that switch from feathers to polka dots, cargo pants in open contrast with printed karung leather jeans, and the impeccable silk suit with the polka dot motif of men’s ties. All free. Wild and yet refined, a boundless glamour on the wings of fantasy.
The accessories are also very special, with an archive clutch decorated with two golden metal claws that becomes a very large or medium-sized hobo model with fringes and
interchangeable shoulder straps, including one handmade with rope and leather weaving. Leather sandals with very high wedges or super seductive sling-backs close to the ground with ostrich feather effects, like diva slippers.
