SCOTT integrates RECCO® technology into warm-weather gear for the first time.
STOCKHOLM, Sweden – April 15, 2026 – RECCO, a global leader in rescue technology, today announced an expanded partnership with SCOTT Sports. With the launch of the Endurance SL Waterproof Jacket, SCOTT introduces its first summer product featuring an integrated RECCO® reflector. Available for both men and women, the jacket significantly improves the searchability of trail runners in emergencies, marking a major milestone in SCOTT’s expansion of RECCO technology into year-round outdoor use.
The new Endurance SL Waterproof Jacket was specifically designed to mirror the natural movements and demands of trail runners during training and competition. Built to withstand the harshest conditions, the jacket’s versatile fit allows it to be worn comfortably either under or over a hydration vest. Now available at retail and online, the jacket underscores SCOTT’s ongoing commitment to enhancing customer safety and locatability across all seasons and environments.
„The feedback from our athletes was clear: this jacket had to work with a pack, not against it. Ensuring a comfortable fit over a backpack became a core development goal, aligning with the evolution of technical trail running rainwear,“ says Nico Bardonner, Head of Softgoods Equipment at SCOTT. „As we continue to strengthen our partnership with RECCO, it was vital for us to provide this additional layer of security for summer trail running. This is our first summer garment to feature a RECCO reflector, complementing the wind and rain protection and high breathability of the Pertex® Shield fabric while offering peace of mind in the event of an accident or injury in the mountains.“
The RECCO rescue network continues to grow, currently supporting search and rescue operations for over 900 mountain rescue organizations and ski resorts across 32 countries. A key part of this expansion is the deployment of RECCO SAR Helicopter Detectors, which allow rescuers to scan vast areas rapidly—up to one square kilometer in just six minutes. These detectors not only reduce the time required to locate missing persons but also minimize the exposure and risk for rescue teams during missions. Currently stationed across Europe, North America, Nepal, and New Zealand, this technology ensures that outdoor enthusiasts remain searchable in diverse environments.
„The introduction of SCOTT’s first RECCO-equipped summer product is a significant step in our mission to make more people searchable year-round,“ said Fredrik Steinwall, CEO of RECCO. „As our global detector network expands, collaborations like this help extend the benefits of RECCO technology beyond winter sports into new outdoor disciplines such as trail running and hiking.“
This launch coincides with a period of significant growth for RECCO as the company continues to scale its global rescue network and advance technologies that improve safety for outdoor enthusiasts worldwide.
