Sie beendete fast anderthalb Sekunden vor dem Zweitplatzierten, dem Amerikaner Breezy Johnson.
Es war Goggias erster Weltcupsieg bei einem Event in Kanada und der erste Sieg einer italienischen Skifahrerin seit 2005.Goggia, 29, sagte: „Das ist der größte Vorteil, mit dem ich je gewonnen habe, also bin ich wirklich glücklich darüber.“

In her first downhill race of the season, Italy’s Sofia Goggia won the fourth downhill race of the weekend at Lake Louise in Canada. Having missed nearly half of last season while recovering from injury, gold-medal-winning Goggia returns to competition strong and healthy, and won this event with one of the largest margins of the past 50 years.
She finished nearly a second and a half ahead of the runner-up, America’s Breezy Johnson. It was Goggia’s first World Cup win in an event in Canada, and the first win for an Italian female skier since 2005. Goggia, 29, said: “This is the biggest advantage I have ever won with, so I’m really happy about that.”
