Claudia Wang AW 22 – London Fashion Week

Taiwanese designer – Claudia Wang debuts her Autumn/Winter 2022 Collection at The Hop Exchange, London Bridge during London Fashion Week via a unique immersive and sensory screening.

Wang has innovatively integrated virtual technology with creativity and bold aesthetics for this collection. Her starting point is always digital printing; the AW22 collection features a diverse array of illustrations, graphic prints and patterns that appeared juxtaposed, and heavily inspired by Taiwanese regional folklore.

The key inspiration behind AW22 is a reference to ancient Chinese mythology text – ‘Classic of Mountains and Seas’ a fabulous geographical and cultural compilation of fables on geography and beasts. The exotic beasts from the text were reimagined and transformed into 13 different fictional creatures which embellished the prints throughout the collection adding a sense of fantasy.

The silhouette is relaxed, featuring sporty and casual cocooned shapes, oversize trench coats and unisex styles. Prints dominate heavily throughout the collection and Claudia Wang continues to explore using eco-friendly dyes that can maintain colour vibrancy but at the same time minimizing production wastage. By injecting a modern spirit of Taiwanese culture, Claudia Wang ensures the collection is unique, contemporary, and very fun to wear.
