Amy Shark, an ARIA award-winning Australian Indie pop singer-songwriter and producer, played her Berlin show on 17th January as her ‚Love Monster‘ tour is rolling in Europe.
Love Monster, debuted at #1 on the ARIA chart, is partly invested in the synth-pop sound. She never seems worried about being too vulnerable or transparent when it comes to lyrics, some emotional, vocal delivery.
It is a great trajectory, with multiple ARIA awards, a No.2 place on Triple J’s Hottest 100 list and sold-out tours. It seems Shark’s growth continues, judging by the speed at which tickets were snapped up for the Europe shows.
Australian indie pop singer Amy Shark brought her fantastic energy to The Festsaal Kreuzberg on 17th January Thursday
Backed by a two-piece band containing a drummer and a multi-instrumentalist who plays keyboards or bass as required. Shark is a charming performer whether dancing and trying to get the crowd or playing guitar.
It was a brilliant night, filled with great music, and a sense of crowd. The audience was with her in each song, eagerly singing her words. When she played the cover from Wheatus’ Teenage Dirtbag, she’s fully earned her place among the crowd. There were no surprises for the end of the show, with Shark playing two of her biggest hits: “Adore” and “I Said Hi”, which are already approved hits and Shark said “Adore” is the reason she has been able to be in Berlin. She may have started out softly, but she certainly ended on a high level energy. During the show she always indicated how much she likes the audience in Berlin calling everyone here is my people.
