This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Museum Night.
Many museums in the district of Spree-Neisse will be taking part in the Museum Nights on the weekends in September. On 1 September from 12 noon, the Romy Schneider Museum in Klein Loitz will be showing works by photographer Gerd Rattei with landscape portraits and nudes on the upper floor. In other rooms, drawings (actors from the past film era) by the director of the museum will be shown, which were created during the Corona period. Ariane Rykov dedicated herself to the depiction of artists of the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. She dedicated numerous drawings to the actress Brigitte Helm, who was the leading actress in the legendary silent film ‘Metropolis’ in 1927. Other motifs show the French actress Brigitte Bardot. These drawings were signed by Brigitte Bardodt especially for the Romy Schneider Museum. In the rear rooms on the upper floor, Uwe Marcus Rykov, who worked as a press photographer for many years, shows portraits of prominent people as well as landscapes and drawings by contemporary artists. A special highlight are drawings by Udo Lindenberg, which he signed for the museum.
Another part of the exhibition shows photographs of Klein Loitz Castle, with work photos documenting the restoration work since 2019.
The motto for 2024 is: ‘20 years of Museum Night. ‘Ideas become experiences.’
