The 2020 Sundance Film Festival took place from January 23 to February 2, 2020. The number one event of 2020 was the ECOLUXE Park City / ABC4 News Celebrity Hospitality and Media Lounge on Saturday January 25th at TEKILA Mexican Grill and Cantina in the heart of the festival action, by Debbie Durkin Productions, Hollywood celebrity Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe stated. The U.S. Dramatic Competition brought the best films of America: The 40-Year-Old Version by Radha Blank, Charm City Kings by Angel Manuel Soto, Minari by Lee Isaac Chung, Miss Juneteenth by Channing Godfrey Peoples, Never Rarely Sometimes Always by Eliza Hittman, Nine Days by Edson Oda, Palm Springs by Max Barbakow, Shirley by Josephine Decker, Sylvie’s Love by Eugene Ashe and Zola by Janicza Bravo among them.
The U.S. Documentary Competition ranged from Be Water by Bao Nguyen and Boys State by Jesse Moss to Crip Camp by Jim LeBrecht and Nicole Newnham, Dick Johnson Is Dead by Kirsten Johnson, The Fight, Mucho Mucho Amor, Spaceship Earth by Matt Wolf, A Thousand Cuts by Ramona S. Diaz, Time by Garrett Bradley and Welcome to Chechnya by David France. The Premieres section sparkled with Downhill, Dream Horse, Falling by Viggo Mortensen, The Father by Florian Zeller, The Glorias by Julie Taymor, Kajillionaire by Miranda July, Promising Young Woman by Emerald Fennell, Tesla by Michael Almereyda and Wendy by Benh Zeitlin.
World Cinema brought Charter by Amanda Kernell, Cuties by Maïmouna Doucouré, Luxor by Zeina Durra and Possessor by Brandon Cronenberg, while the NEXT section and the KIDS programme, with Binti and Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made, rounded out a festival that once again honoured the world’s top indie filmmakers.
