His Highness Prince Waldemar Schaumburg-Lippe is one of the highest ranked princes of Europe. He is the son of HRH Princess Feodora of Denmark and HH Prince Christian Schaumburg-Lippe, and he established Hygge – the Happiness Rule – in his mother’s Kingdom of Denmark, Europe’s oldest monarchy, known as the world’s happiest country. He was born on December 19th 1940.

Prince Waldemar has two children: His Highness Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe, award winning EMMY’s Judge, TV host, Bertelsmann-Random House author, keynote speaker, recording artist and Lee Strasberg actor, and Her Highness Princess Eleonore Christine Schaumburg-Lippe, who serves as marketing specialist of several entities.
H.H. Prince Waldemar zu Schaumburg-Lippe, Sekundogenitur Nachod, was born in Germany at Klein-Glienicke Palace in Berlin. He is heir to the Nachod branch of the princely house of Schaumburg-Lippe, coming from Nachod Palace, a 1000 room mega-estate north of Prague. Being born at the royal Glienicke palace, his lineage as great-grandson of His Majesty King Frederick VIII of Denmark relates him to all current European monarchs, and he is part of the line of succession to the British throne.
Many years he lived in Germany and worked as a sales manager of IBERIA. After the death of his parents he moved to Denmark and got married. His cousin Her Majesty Margrethe II of Denmark appointed him as Royal Danish Court Photographer, and he also became managing director of the private company Elfelt Royal (1893), one of the global pioneers of photography. He served his country as government representative and became a director of a board.
The Schaumburg-Lippe family founded Hamburg, Lubeck and Kiel in Germany. As a child he grew up together with his related royals H.M. King Karl Gustav of Sweden, H.M. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and H.M. Queen Elizabeth of England, and one of his closest mentors was his uncle H.M. King Olav of Norway. Most of Europe’s reigning royal families are, like Prince Waldemar, direct descendants of King Christian IX of Denmark.
