Dr. Amy Beth Dukoff – Meet the New York Endodontist Nicknamed Doctor Genius
New Yorkers know her by a nickname that says it all: Doctor Genius. Dr. Amy Beth Dukoff, DMD, BSE, is an endodontist in private practice in New York City, a researcher, an inventor and the CEO and founder of E Rinse Dental Inc. – a career built, unusually, on both engineering and dentistry.
A Story by Award Winning Managing Editor His Highness Dr. Prince Mario-Max zu Schaumburg-Lippe.
Her education runs through Tufts twice over: a B.S.E. from the Tufts University School of Engineering, cum laude in 1978, and a D.M.D. from the Tufts School of Dental Medicine in 1981, followed by a Certificate in Endodontics from Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn in 1985. She has owned her practice Root Canal Wizards at 9 East 45th Street in Manhattan and was a partner at Manhattan Endodontist Specialists, P.C. from 1985 to 2021.
Patents, Professorships and a Research Company
As head of research at E Rinse Dental Inc. since 2018, Dukoff holds US and foreign medical and dental patents – a long list covering compositions and methods for endodontic irrigation, stem cell preparations and tissue regeneration, including US Patent 8,961,180 B2 of February 24, 2015, and later patents on treatments for cancers and tumors, among them US Patent 10,226,403 of March 12, 2019 and US Patent 10925895 of February 23, 2021, plus patents granted in Israel.
She taught as Associate Clinical Professor at Columbia School of Dental Medicine and as a part-time Clinical Assistant Professor for Oral Diagnosis and Endodontics from 1982 to 1991, ran the Endo-Mail continuing education service as an ADA CERP provider from 2014 to 2020, and has presented for decades at the Greater New York Dental Meeting – on everything from internal tooth whitening and her E-Rinse White and E-Rinse Brite solutions to COVID-19 and oral health. Add volunteer work at Lenox Hill Hospital, a Hall of Fame Award from Hewlett High School in 2016, volunteer dentistry in Jerusalem in 2015 and frontline work through the 2020 New York coronavirus pandemic – and the nickname starts to look well earned.
