JENN LEE, the Taiwanese designer brand led by Wei Chen Lee joins Taipei Fashion Week this season with a romantic but wild fashion catwalk show on October 15th at Taipei Rose Garden to celebrate the launch of its Spring/Summer 23 collection.

JENN LEE has a unique view of female power, inspired by the punk spirit “Break the Rules”. In Spring/Summer 23, JENN LEE wants to celebrate our bodies with you. Regardless of who you are, be conscious of your body and embrace it. Jenn comments that the feminists’ action in the 1970s of burning bras to symbolize women’s rights is not the appropriate gesture for the 21st century. Billie Eilish, who dressed in a corset on the cover of British Vogue (June 2021), said, „It’s all about what makes you feel good”. Banish the old fashion and the male gaze, bound by objectification of the female form.

Sustainability is no longer limited to casual wear, but can also be applied to sexy and elegant garments. JENN LEE uses second-hand corsets from the corsetry company, Venus, deconstructing the garments for use in the ‘Up-cycled’ series for Spring/Summer 23. In addition to making sexy fitting skirts, corset fabrics are incorporated into the designs, making the suits even more romantic and charming. JENN LEE also uses stocked fabrics to reduce waste. Utilizing stretchable and breathable fabrics as the main material, JENN LEE creates elegant clothing for the modern women. Women who wear JENN LEE can move freely, even in a fitted, elegant dress. 

For Spring/Summer 23, JENN LEE has incorporated the KCC button zipper to create flowing and twisted lines to embellish curves, and uses discarded zipper heads to make artistic avant-garde metal accessories. An eye catching pattern created by JUN YAO ZOIE LIAO can be seen throughout the collection, which highlights the theme “ Love is the Answer”.

Jenn sees Lao-Tzu as her old friend. Lao Tzu said in the sixth chapter of the Tao Te Ching: “The spirit of the Valley never dies. It is called the Mystic Female. The Door of the Mystic Female is the root of Heaven and Earth. It is there within us all the while. Draw upon it, it serves you with ease.”

These words have a stronger explanation for mother nature and the body. The power exists in you and I. „There is no need to hide when talking about sex. It is a gift from God, it is the power that nurtures the universe, and it is pure beauty.“ 

Taipei Rose Garden was chosen especially for its bright, open and natural environment for the Spring/Summer 23 catwalk show. To express the “diversity of beauty”, JENN LEE invited local celebrities and artists to take part in the fashion show as it evokes the inner confidence of every audience member. Each model in the show portrays a different aspect of power. In the process of watching the show, you may feel passionate and sultry, with your inner lust surging. This is the emotion that JENN LEE wants to lead the audience to experience in the show! 

Continuing with the theme of ‘Break the Rules’ and confronting taboos, JENN LEE has cooperated with German female pleasure company, Womanizer, the Premium Eco brand that has set off a revolution in sexual pleasure. With the theme of „love is everything, go deep into your desires and embrace your body“, JENN LEE invites the public to explore the inner self and enjoy the bliss of body orgasm. Every guest of the fashion show will receive a sex toy or a lubricant. 

This season, JENN LEE also collaborated with Dr. Martens, the leading European and American leather boot company, which has the same playful rock spirit of the show.
