So geschehen innerhalb der letzten vier Wochen im Haus von Bike- und YouTube-Star Fabio Wibmer in Innsbruck. In „Home Office“ zeigt der Österreicher einmal mehr wie viel Kreativität und Können in ihm stecken.“
Für einen Profi-Biker wie Fabio Wibmer sieht das Home Office natürlich anders aus: Sein Bürostuhl ist der Fahrradsattel und sein Job ist das Biken. Wie sehr ihm das im Moment fehlt zeigt sich gleich zu Beginn des Clips, wenn er antriebslos durch seine WG streift und versucht sich mit verschiedenen Aufgaben abzulenken. Wirklich besser wird es aber erst, als er auf sein Trialbike steigt und sich mit einem mächtigen Sprung vom Hausdach aus der Lockdown-Lethargie reißt.
Wenn Fabio von zuhause aus „arbeitet“, gibt es Backflips vom Dach, lässige Drops aus dem Fenster und knifflige Balanceakte über selbstgebaute Wippen. Als guter und ordentlicher Mitbewohner beteiligt Fabio sich natürlich rege am WG-Leben und leistet beim Mittagessen oder der Yogastunde Gesellschaft. Auch fürs Erledigen der häuslichen Pflichten ist sich der Bike-Superstar nicht zu schade: So bringt er auf spektakuläre Weise den Müll raus oder hilft bei der Wäsche.

Der kreative Actionclip entstand während des letzten Monats in Fabios Haus in Innsbruck. Die Umsetzung gestaltete sich alles andere als einfach. „Wir wussten, dass wir jetzt erstmal für eine unbestimmte Zeit das Haus nicht verlassen können, wollten aber trotzdem etwas produzieren, das die Leute zumindest für kurze Zeit auf andere Gedanken bringt und ihnen ein wenig Freude bereitet,“ erklärt der 24-jährige Österreicher seine Motivation: „Da wir als Drehort nur Haus und Garten hatten, mussten wir ziemlich viel planen und auch ausprobieren, was sich letztendlich umsetzen lässt. Für manche Szenen haben wir über 600 Versuche gebraucht. Die Leute von Dude Perfect wären stolz auf uns!“

Of course, Fabio Wibmer’s home office looks a little different than for your average Joe: his office chair is his bike saddle, his job is to ride. How much he misses this becomes clear right from the start of the seven minute action clip, when Fabio strolls around his house, but without really having anything to do – so he plans his creative escape from lockdown boredom, of course using his bike. From the get-go, Fabio goes big with a jump from his roof and from there on in, it’s boredom no longer.
When Fabio Wibmer “works” from home you can expect back flips from the roof top, drops out of the window and skillful balancing on a self-built seesaw, but needless to say, the 24-year-old actively engages in the everyday life of his roommates, keeping them company during lunchtime or an afternoon yoga session. While taking out the trash or helping with the laundry, the Austrian bike professional creatively demonstrates he is not above the essential chores in a shared household.

Home Office was shot in Fabio’s house in Innsbruck over the last four weeks and shooting it was everything but easy. “We knew we wouldn’t be allowed to leave the house for a while, without really knowing how long, but we wanted to put something together which would let people take their mind off of things, to not think about what’s going on in the world, even if just for five minutes – to put a smile on their faces,” says the Austrian. “As we could only shoot in the house and in the garden, we needed to plan everything, try everything, to see what would and what would not work. For some of the tricks, we needed more than 600 tries. The Dude Perfect guys would probably give us a big thumbs up.”
