Temperley London presents Winter 2020 “She Wants to Dance”

Taking inspiration from the intoxicating world of dance, the new collection encapsulates the vibrant energy of the golden age of jazz, tap and swing. Through diaphanous fabrics, vivid colours, and striking silhouettes, the collection echoes the movement of the dancers themselves.

Four distinctive moods can be felt throughout; the first, inspired by Parisian jazz focuses on feminine tulles appliqued with lace in delicate colours and adorned with musical note prints. In contrast to this, the second mood moves its attention to swing dance, taking influence from cubism shown through graphic prints.

Alice’s favourite masculine silhouettes are inspired by Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire in the form of tailoring in soft nappas and Italian checked wool. Heady Latin dance clubs of the 1930s are at the centre of the collection’s third theme, with darker velvet and lace offerings highlighted by the animalistic print capturing the spirit of uninhibited jive dancers. The final mood takes inspiration from Georgia O’Keefe’s sultry New York cityscapes. With elegant refined shapes and sultry velvets contrasted with sparkly knits and crystal detailing; taking the Temperley London woman from day to night.

Temperley London’s Winter 2020 eveningwear offering takes a sophisticated advance from the heritage of the brand, featuring contrasting colours in rich Italian fabrics and opulent crystal details that are carried over from the daywear offering.

The new line of Temperley London accessories complete the ready-to-wear and evening looks from the Winter 2020 collection.
